2ŁØT have returned with “I Hurt Myself Again,” a slow-burning new single that leans into emotional ambiguity and restraint.

The track centres on the idea that memory and experience rarely remain fixed over time. Instead of presenting a clear emotional conclusion, the band allow conflicting feelings to exist side by side throughout the song’s runtime.

Musically, “I Hurt Myself Again” is built around a repetitive two-chord structure that gives the arrangement a hypnotic quality. The minimal foundation was first created by bassist Robert Trusko during a writing retreat at Matt Sorum’s Palm Springs studio, before gradually evolving into the finished version heard now.

The release also features contributions from vocalist Cameron McCloud and multi-instrumentalist Elise Trouw. Their performances add different emotional textures to the song while maintaining the track’s understated tone.

Orchestral arrangements from Kyle Gordon, recorded with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, introduce a broader cinematic feel to the production. However, the band avoid pushing the track toward excess, keeping the focus firmly on atmosphere and emotional detail.

“I Hurt Myself Again” continues the rollout for RE/SOLVE, an album that appears to explore quieter emotional territory than some of the band’s earlier work. Rather than confronting chaos directly, these newer songs seem more interested in the lingering emotional effects that follow difficult experiences.
