Ana Schurmann has returned with “Peacemakers”, a new single built around ideas of cooperation, compassion and responsibility toward others.
Out now, the track was written, performed and produced by Schurmann herself, with ten instruments used across the recording. Among them is the Neck Lyre, a piece she designed to function simultaneously as wearable jewellery and a playable musical instrument.
The song is also connected to her humanitarian work, with the project intended to raise awareness for Lar Recanto do Carinho and wider issues surrounding the protection of children and vulnerable communities.
Alongside her recording career, Ana Schurmann has developed projects spanning astrophysics, fashion and sustainable design. Her scientific work has included creating musical compositions from real gravitational-wave data collected by international observatories.
The guiding phrase behind “Peacemakers” is “E Pluribus Unum” (“Of many, one”) reflecting the single’s emphasis on common purpose across cultural and disciplinary boundaries.
