Swedish singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Fredrik Norlindh releases his ambitious debut album ‘Contrasting Notes’, an 11-track journey through soaring melodies, dramatic orchestration, and genre-defying soundscapes. The project’s bold lead single ‘Lipstick On’ arrives as a euphoric indie-pop anthem infused with rock energy and cinematic flair, spotlighting Norlindh’s gift for blending emotional storytelling with big, detailed production.
Norlindh’s artistry draws from an eclectic pool of influences, ranging from Muse, Depeche Mode, and Coldplay to ABBA, Queen, Lady Gaga, and Andrew Lloyd Webber, all filtered through his unique creative lens. With a degree in musicology and a thesis on The Phantom of the Opera, his work is steeped in theatricality, complexity, and musical depth. He has already gained recognition for his sweeping orchestral work, with his symphonic piece Minnesverket winning Best Contemporary Instrumental Song at the 2025 Intercontinental Music Awards in Los Angeles.
Recorded at the legendary Soundtrade Studios in Stockholm (home to ABBA, Europe, and E-Type), produced by Behshad Ashnai, and solely written by Fredrik, ‘Contrasting Notes’ is built around a central idea: music should never be one-dimensional. Across its 11 tracks, the album moves between indie rock, electronic pop, symphonic arrangements, and cinematic scores, each song carrying its own mood while contributing to a greater narrative of contrast and emotional duality.
“It’s a showcase of my talent and passion as a songwriter and artist. To be able to write this wide range of styles in these big, detailed productions, without the aid of AI or sampling, it’s satisfying and 100% me. This album is my voice, my vision, exactly as I intended.”
From the frustration and urgency of Can’t You See Me to the euphoric punch of ‘Lipstick On’ and the symphonic textures woven throughout, ‘Contrasting Notes’ captures the full spectrum of Norlindh’s musical identity, grand, dynamic, emotional, and unmistakably personal.
With his blend of orchestral grandeur, rock intensity, and electronic innovation, Norlindh has carved a space uniquely his own, poised to captivate listeners who crave both theatrical scale and raw emotional honesty.
