I KNOW ME feels very personal. What was going through your mind when the idea first
came to you?
It was a deep realization about identity—how people often carry the pride of thinking they
know who they are and their purpose, when in reality, they don’t. It’s about confronting that
illusion.
You’ve mentioned the song came from dreams. Do you usually create like that, or was
this one different?
I do receive ideas through dreams—I believe God speaks to me that way. For this song,
the concept came from a dream, but everything else came alive in real time. The melodies
and energy formed organically with the team, like we all tapped into the same vision.
The video is a big part of this release. What was your favourite moment from the shoot?
My favourite moment was the raw creativity on set. A lot wasn’t scripted—it just happened
naturally. The baptism scene stood out the most. It was powerful and visually beautiful.
Your sound blends Afro pop, Kalindula, and Zamrock. How did you land on that mix?
Our foundation is Zambian sound, especially Kalindula. From there, we let the message
guide us. The fusion with Afropop and Zamrock happens naturally because we don’t limit
creativity—we follow what the moment needs.
If someone is hearing your music for the first time through I KNOW ME, what do you
hope they take away from it?
I want people to take away self-awareness. Finding your true identity requires letting go of
pride and the idea that you have everything figured out—that’s where real growth begins.
Outside of music, what’s something simple that keeps you grounded day to day?
What keeps me grounded is my character, faith, and sense of purpose. No matter what
comes, I stay disciplined and grateful. Knowing the message can impact lives keeps me
focused.
