For Miist, music has become a platform for exploring human connection. Her newest single “Love Will Show Us Our Way” launches The Love Project, a year-long initiative focused on everyday compassion. The accompanying music video reflects that philosophy directly. Instead of relying on staged scenes, the video features real clips submitted by fans around the world.
Participants filmed moments from their daily lives showing kindness and support. Those contributions now appear throughout the video, forming a collective narrative.
The song itself was written with Mauro Malavasi, whose work on Andrea Bocelli’s Romanza helped shape modern classical crossover. Together they created a track centered on empathy and emotional resilience.
Miist first explored these ideas through the Smile Project in 2025. That initiative began with the song “Could You Lend Me a Smile,” inspired by a widely reported story in Tokyo involving a man who died alone.
The project eventually expanded into an international collaboration recorded in 16 languages and involving artists associated with dozens of GRAMMY awards.
Beyond her music releases, Miist has built several platforms that continue the conversation around emotional well-being.
Her podcast, Make Me Smile with Miist, combines storytelling, research, and music. The show encourages listeners to take small steps that improve their relationships with others.
Each episode concludes with a brief suggestion called a “15-second action.” The prompts focus on practical gestures such as sending a message of gratitude or checking in on someone who may feel isolated.
These ideas will soon appear in her forthcoming book, Make Me Smile with Miist®, which adapts the podcast’s concepts into short written reflections.
Miist also founded the World Smile Initiative, a nonprofit organization that develops tools addressing loneliness and social disconnection. The Kindness Kube™, one of its projects, offers daily prompts encouraging compassion and appreciation.
Her entry into music followed an unusual path. After surviving a life-threatening illness in her twenties, Miist began writing songs during her thirties as a way to process difficult experiences.
That creative outlet quickly expanded into a catalog of more than 100 songs and collaborations with numerous award-winning producers.
Miist later became the first native Chinese artist to enter Billboard’s Top 25 Pop/AC chart and has continued appearing on the charts with subsequent releases.
Through The Love Project, Miist continues building an artistic framework centered on connection.
“Love Will Show Us Our Way” introduces the initiative with a simple message: everyday gestures can have a lasting impact.
