Alimba Announces Exciting New Release - ‘Refracted Echoes’ 30th October 2026
'I was missing making music.'
That plain line from Alimba's artist statement explains the last twelve months better than any press summary could.
Spiros Aliprantis, the Greek-born producer now living in Bedfordshire, took a break from music after releasing '4 Stages of a Journey' on Bandcamp in 2018. By 2025 the gap had become hard to ignore, and he wanted back in.
His first move was 'Liminal Keys', an anthology of special versions of songs across ambient, acoustic and piano pieces, again released on Bandcamp only. He describes it as a pivotal album and the last of his Ambient Downtempo albums, which makes it read like a deliberate full stop. It was a quiet, self-contained record for the listeners already paying attention, followed by a clean break.

The break came fast. 'Resonance' arrived in early 2026 with vintage techno and trance dance music, a long way from piano pieces. It also closed a loop that had been open for more than a decade. The singles 'Kalispera' (2014) and 'Evolution' (2015) were meant as a promo for that album, which he says ended up being released too late, because life is difficult abroad. There is something satisfying about a record finally landing after that long a wait, and fans after a physical copy can find the CD through Elastic Stage.
'Temporal Distortion' followed, three Vocal Trance tracks and his last release made in FL Studio. It is out now. Then comes 'Refracted Echoes', a techno single due on 30th October. His catalogue now covers experimental techno, space ambient, downtempo, drone, piano, trance and techno again, each in its own pocket, and in roughly a year he has moved from ambient piano to vintage techno and trance, to Vocal Trance, and back to techno.
What stands out is the pace. He closed the ambient chapter in late 2025 and had a techno and trance album out within months. A new album is already underway in Reaper, built around what he calls a very new and defined sound of Trance with cinematic tones and world sounds. For someone who described his return so simply, he has not wasted any time.
