At just 15, Birmingham’s Davi The Mavi is already writing, rapping, and producing his own tracks - and doing it to a standard most twice his age would be jealous of. His latest single “Come Back” was finished last summer, when he was still only 14. It’s sharp, self-assured, and full of promise.
Davi’s been around music from the jump. By six, he was already remixing demos for his older brother, Ronzoni Hines. That early start gave him a head start - not just in skill, but in confidence. You can hear it in “Come Back” - a melodic, experimental track that doesn’t try to copy anyone else’s sound.
His influences are wide - Eminem, Wu-Tang, Ninjaman, Skillibeng, even Deadmau5 - but what he’s making is very much his own. It’s rooted in his background, shaped by his mixed heritage, and built with the kind of curiosity that only comes from someone still figuring things out and loving the process.
Beyond the music, Davi’s a natural performer - style, stage presence, backflips and all. But nothing’s rushed. There’s a lot more to come this year, with more tracks and videos on the way.
For now, “Come Back” is a strong step forward from a young artist who’s clearly got something to say - and the skills to back it up.
