Eva B moves between Urdu and Balochi on new single ‘Bachke’

Language plays a central role in “Bachke”, the new collaboration between Pakistani rapper Eva B and India’s AGSY.
Eva B begins the track in Urdu, using her opening verse to address assumptions made about her identity and the person behind her public image. Later in the song, she moves into Balochi before returning to Urdu, maintaining the connection to her heritage that has characterised much of her career.
AGSY approaches the track differently, delivering a tightly constructed verse built around rapid flows and detailed wordplay.
Producer Mudassar Qureshi provides a dark, minimal backdrop that allows both performances to remain distinct rather than forcing the artists into a shared style.
For Eva B, the release follows a period of increased international visibility that has included “Rozi” appearing in Ms. Marvel and a Recording Academy Global Spin performance.
“Bachke” also brings two neighbouring hip-hop scenes together through a female-led collaboration.
