After a harrowing three-year forced hiatus that included a near-fatal battle with a severe lung infection in 2024, alternative singer-songwriter Lewca has officially returned to the music scene. Defying the odds, the London-born, Normandy-based artist is back with a sharper bite, releasing his riotous new comeback single, "Like Liam Gallagher."

The track serves as the explosive lead single for his highly anticipated fourth studio album, Innit?, which is locked in for a December 4th, 2026 release.

For many artists, a brush with mortality invites quiet, acoustic introspection. Lewca, true to form, opted to crank up the fuzz pedals and lean directly into beautiful chaos.

"Like Liam Gallagher" is a swaggering, up-tempo alt-indie rock anthem built on irreverent wit, infectious hooks, and a heavy dose of self-deprecation. The track masterfully captures the universal feeling of stumbling blindly through life’s obstacles with entirely misplaced confidence, yet somehow managed to land completely on your feet.

"We won't go gentle into that good night, still talking to myself in the morning light, I ain't changed," Lewca proclaims, capturing the resilient spirit of the new record.

Lewca’s signature sound has always thrived in the gaps between conventional genres. His unconventional life path, born in a Brixton squat and navigating the underground scene of a Paris squat by age 19, deeply informs a style that seamlessly blends punk attitude, hip-hop storytelling, and alternative pop.

For the production of Innit?, Lewca reunited with his long-time creative partner, Parisian producer and beatmaker S.O.A.P. (DJ Sonofapitch). The duo, who originally bonded over a mutual love of wonky beats and Dragon Ball FighterZ, have spent years carving out a distinct niche that has previously garnered Album of the Year praise from DJ Kaptin Barrett and BBC Radio 6 Music backing from Tom Robinson.

Ultimately, "Like Liam Gallagher" refuses to ask the listener for sympathy regarding its creator's health battles. Instead, the track acts as an exuberant, loud, and entirely self-aware celebration of survival, proving that the best way to stare down the grim reaper is with a grin and a raised glass.
