Following the release of her pop-punk anthem ‘About You’, we asked Huddersfield rising star Iris Danbury to talk us through five tracks that mean something to her right now…
The 13-year-old, whose own sound nods to Olivia Rodrigo, Paramore, Avril Lavigne and Busted, has been performing since she was five years old, building a following through competitions, busking, youth theatre and open mics, as well as appearances in McDonald’s “Ellie & Archie” advert and the PureGym 2025/26 campaign.
Her second single continues the momentum built by debut ‘I Don’t Care’, trading its message of self-worth for a tribute to the friends who arrive exactly when they’re needed. Here’s what’s been on her playlist.
Where The Hell Is My Husband? by Raye
because of the upbeat and fun vibe
Thunderstruck by AC/DC
makes me want to party and rock out
Drop Dead by Olivia Rodrigo
I love Olivia’s voice and style
Man I need by Olivia Dean
Love the smooth jazz style
Exothermic by Faouzia
Love Faouzia's voice and all the vocal range and layers.
