With The Como Brothers' new album 'Whisper in the Wind' out now, the duo picks five music videos and albums they love, and explains why each one works...

INTERVIEW WITH MATT COMO OF THE COMO BROTHERS

Hi everyone! My name is Matt Como, and I am one of the two brothers who make up the musical duo, The Como Brothers. We hope you enjoy our new album, “Whisper In The Wind,” which is being released on September 28, 2026.

5 Favourite Music Videos

Matt Como still remembers the first music video that stuck with him: a Blink-182 clip playing in a friend's living room in Port Jefferson while he was around eleven and mostly running about. Years on, the Long Island songwriter's favourites run from a Beatles clip with Ringo on an exercise bike to a video built around a chalk artist and one very big heart.

“ALL THE SMALL THINGS” BY BLINK-182

I remember being at my friend Colin Field’s house in Port Jefferson, NY, when I was in grade school. I was probably around 11 years old when I first heard this song. The music video came on in his living room while we were running around playing, and the song combined with the video just came across as so much fun.

At the time, I wasn’t specifically hardcore into listening to any particular type of music. Even so, the song really struck me, and that moment of watching their music video has always stuck with me. I think there’s something really powerful about when a song and a video come together and create a memory like that.

“I FEEL FINE” BY THE BEATLES

It’s just rock ‘n’ roll. The song is one of the all-time greatest, and then you look at the four lads singing it, having fun and joking around in the music video.

Ringo isn’t even playing drums; he’s just riding an exercise bike! George is singing harmonies into a punching bag instead of a mic. You just can’t beat it!

That’s what I love about The Beatles. They’re obviously incredible musicians and songwriters, but they also look like they’re having a genuinely great time making music together.

“CHEAP TALK” BY THE COMO BROTHERS

Okay, I had to sneak one of our own music videos in here!

I thought the concept behind this video was really cool. Andrew and I filmed it somewhere in Rhode Island or Massachusetts on a freezing cold day in the fall. We went to all kinds of different locations around the city filming.

One of the coolest parts was a chalk artist who drew a massive heart on a wall. At the beginning of the video, you don’t quite know what she’s drawing, but by the end, the artwork is completely finished, and it’s an amazing chalk drawing.

The cool thing was that she started the drawing when we started filming early in the day. By the end of the day, we met back up with her, and she had finished the entire thing. It was really cool to see the whole process unfold.

“PERFECT” BY ED SHEERAN

The song and the video are actually “perfect.” It’s the perfect love song, and the video is perfect in the way it cinematically tells a love story.

It’s easy to understand how this song became one of the biggest hits of all time. We’d love the chance to write a song and perform with Ed someday!

“CHOOSIN’ TEXAS” BY ELLA LANGLEY

Much respect to Ella for directing this herself. Obviously, the song is a masterpiece, and she is incredible.

I saw the video this year and absolutely loved it. It’s one of those videos that perfectly fits the song and actually enhances it. Everything works together.

We’d love to work with Ella! She’s AWESOME!

5 Favourite Albums

Honestly, I could just say all the Beatles albums come before anything else, haha. There’s also an album by my Dad and Uncles’ band, “The Words,” which is one of my favorites.
But here is a shot at a top five, though!

1. “A Hard Day’s Night” — The Beatles

2. “Help!” — The Beatles

3. “Whisper In The Wind” — The Como Brothers

4. “Where The Light Is” — John Mayer Trio

5. “Songs About Jane” — Maroon 5
