Angry Joe and the Holy Socks share ‘In Real Life’

Angry Joe and the Holy Socks have returned with a new track that places resilience at the centre of their songwriting.

Built around ringing guitars, acoustic layers and an expansive chorus, In Real Life reflects on the frustration of feeling unable to move forward. Rather than presenting an easy resolution, the song recognises uncertainty while leaving space for better possibilities ahead.

Frontman Angry Joe first began writing the track several years ago, during the early stages of his development as a guitarist. The song remained incomplete until he recently rediscovered its central melody and decided to finish it.

The single continues the band’s established balance of British-influenced guitar music and American alternative rock, with echoes of Oasis, Counting Crows and The Lemonheads.

It follows the group’s recent album It’s All Pretend and arrives as they continue to build their local audience through regular performances across Houston.
