Beldon Haigh Announces Surprise Dystopia: The Rock Opera performance at Whistlebinkies, Edinburgh, Scotland

Beldon Haigh, the provocative, indie rock band from Falkirk, has broken into the US Triple A Charts with the single ‘Elected’, and also announced a surprise performance at Whistlebinkies in Edinburgh on November 10th, 2024. At 9 PM, The first performance of Dystopia - the Rock Opera, since the band's highly acclaimed premier run of the show at Ed Fringe 2024.

‘Elected’ is a banging anthem from Dystopia - The Rock Opera, and chart success in the USA is especially relevant with the US Elections now only days away. Presenters on numerous Triple A stations across the USA are praising ‘Elected’ and encouraging US listeners to tune into this distinctive, unusual and talented band of musicians.

‘Elected’, like many Beldon Haigh songs, is upbeat, dancey, melodic, and strong, featuring funky riffs and grooves, stylish lyrics, a massive chorus and a huge call to arms in the middle eight sections. It is a well-crafted and beautifully played anthem from the band’s rock opera, Dystopia.

Dystopia - The Rock Opera tells the tale of a place and time, not too dissimilar to our own modern, yet Dystopian world. Featuring broken towns, blame and shame, warmongers, billionaires, an assassination attempt, an election, moons on sticks and mended broken hearts. Epic songs, big choruses and insane mask-wearing musicians!

It’s also an immersive experience which plunges audience members into roles as Dystopian citizens (Dystopians) and takes them on the spellbinding, yet the satirical journey of Dystopia as it moves from a place of toxicity, corruption and darkness, through a bizarre election and into a place of understanding and enlightenment.

Audience members are encouraged to bring their fellow “Dystopians” to an evening of epic choruses, political parallels, surprises, unforgettable music and the odd freebie… Don’t miss this chance to witness Beldon Haigh’s unique sound and stage show at Whistlebinkies—where the rhythms of indie rock meet a powerful, message-driven spectacle.

Join us for a night of unflinching music, satire, and solidarity on November 10th!

About Beldon Haigh:

Beldon Haigh’s songs are often about broken systems. Songs that explore people’s increasing obsession with convenience and consumerism, whilst wondering why we still long for the values of the past. The band uses music to tell stories to provoke, poke fun, protest, inspire and bring hope to an often broken world. From a musical vintage that cherishes real instruments, intriguing arrangements and contemporary playing. The band deliver a fitting musical tapestry on which to weave the more traditional values of fairness, compassion, camaraderie, fellowship, community and society illustrated in the songs. A focus on what is important in life, rather than the acquisition of possessions, wealth or power.
