Rising R&B artist Courtney Rhodes is back with a sultry, feel-good single just in time for the warm weather. Titled “Mini Shorts (On),” the new track is a mid-tempo, airy, and undeniably sexy ode to summer confidence, celebrating that moment every woman knows—when you put on your favourite shorts and the whole vibe shifts.

Originally from Houston and raised in Atlanta, Courtney brings a polished blend of musicality and creative control to her work. A trained vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with a degree in Music Management from Georgia State University, she’s been building her sound and skillset since the age of 8. As both producer and songwriter, she’s firmly in the driver’s seat of her artistry—and “Mini Shorts (On)” is the perfect example.

“‘Mini Shorts (On)’ is a flirty, cute, sexy, mid-tempo song for the girlies,” says Courtney. “It’s about that moment when you throw on your favorite pair of shorts, feel yourself, and your man can’t take his eyes—or hands—off you. It’s playful and confident, but lets the lyrics breathe.”

The track was created entirely by Courtney herself. She began with an airy guitar loop sourced through Output Arcade, layering it with two alternating riffs to anchor the song’s breezy, sensual vibe. With drums and her signature bass, the foundation was set—and within two days, she had perfected the track’s smooth, understated production and alluring vocal delivery.

“Mini Shorts (On)” builds on the momentum of Courtney’s debut project Infatuated (2021), showcasing her evolution as a fully independent artist carving her space in modern R&B.
