After years of working across different creative fields, Martin Luther McCoy is set to release Welcome Back Love, his first album in 14 years.

The project arrives following a long development period, during which McCoy continued to create outside of traditional industry timelines. This approach has influenced both the structure and delivery of the album, which prioritises cohesion over immediacy.

The single “Peace of Mind” highlights this direction. The song explores the idea of staying centred during periods of uncertainty, presented through a calm and deliberate arrangement.

Musically, the album draws on a broad spectrum of influences, particularly from Black American musical traditions, while allowing for fluid movement between styles. McCoy’s independent framework has played a key role in shaping that sound, offering flexibility in both production and release.

Collaborations across the record, including a feature from Stic of Dead Prez, reinforce connections to wider musical communities without overshadowing McCoy’s individual voice.

Welcome Back Love ultimately reflects an artist continuing to build on an established foundation, guided by experience rather than external pressure.
