Irish singer-songwriter Mick Rochford returns with his most personal and moving release yet, “Still Born Our Girl,” a powerful emotional ballad dedicated to his daughter Saoirse, who was sadly stillborn in 2007. As her 18th birthday approaches on November 15, the song stands as both a tribute and a beacon of awareness for families affected by stillbirth.

Recorded at Oblivion Studios in County Meath, “Still Born Our Girl” captures Rochford’s signature ability to blend raw vulnerability with heartfelt storytelling. The track’s stripped-back instrumentation and soaring vocal performance offer a deeply emotional listening experience, one that brings both grief and love into harmony.

“This song is for Saoirse,” Mick shares. “She would have been 18 this year. I wanted to do something to honour her memory while also shining a light on the incredible organisations that support families like ours.”

The single will raise awareness and support for A Little Lifetime Foundation in Ireland and Sands UK, two charities dedicated to helping families through the heartbreak of stillbirth and infant loss.

After decades as a drummer performing across Ireland, including supporting legendary Irish band Aslan, Rochford began his solo journey in 2024. In just a short time, he’s earned over 50,000 monthly listeners and 3 million playlist impressions on Spotify, placing him among the Top 40 Irish artists on the platform. His debut album, “I’ve Got Something to Say,” is currently in the works and promises to continue his path of authenticity and emotional honesty.

With “Still Born Our Girl,” Mick Rochford channels profound personal loss into something healing, offering a song that speaks for so many who have experienced the same pain in silence.
